A Few Magic Words

On our way home from vacation this weekend, Erik said a few magic (one-of-the-many-reasons-why-I-love-you-so-much) words:  "Do you want to stop and visit any of those outlet stores?"

Although exhausted and not particularly in the mood to shop, I couldn't pass up the opportunity.  And luckily, these sandals and dress were quick finds and great staples for my summer wardrobe.  I've already managed to wear this outfit to an engagement party and work today--and I'm sure I'll wear it another few times before we even get to June...

Time in the Country

Tonight my week-long break comes to an end.  It's never easy to return to setting the alarm clock, but I have to admit to feeling well-rested and ready to take on a new work week.

I wore this outfit on Friday when we spent the morning enjoying my parents' horses, playing with the dogs, and eventually making the 6 hour drive back to suburban life.  Simple outfit for a day of simple pleasures... the time out there never lasts long enough.

This is Deuce, my sister's pup who thinks horse grain is tasty.

Some Spring Staples

I made a quick trip to the mall last week and knew exactly what I was looking for.  I had 2 essential spring needs wants and was waiting for a nice sale.  I love my Perfect Oxford in pink, and after E recently shrunk my other favorite white shirt, I thought this one would be a good replacement.  I also had my mind set on a pair of these soft cropped pants...I'm sure I'll wear 'em to death this spring season!

Pink Silk

This skirt has been sitting in my closet for a while now.

Yes, basically what I just wrote should be a crime.

I purchased this fantastic silk garment before Christmas, and for some insane reason, I haven't given it a spin around town, until now.  Soft, silky, Betty Draper-like attire that I've been passing up day after day?!

I'm ashamed of myself.

Time Wasted

My schedule doesn't always allow time for photos during optimal daylight.  I thought that a few pictures at 7am might work today, but instead it was an epic fail.

I have nothing for you today... but one sad fake flower,  pinned to his cardigan friend.

Have you ever managed to cram a few photos into your busy day, only to find out later that it was just a  big waste of time?

My Diagonal Cardigan

Siggghhh, I'm so tired tonight!  I couldn't bare to get off of the couch and show off my mismatched pajama ensemble, so I opted to post a weekend outfit from a few weeks ago.  This is one of the softest sweaters that I have, and I love its quirkiness.  The button front is actually diagonal, but it's hard to tell from these photos.  I bought this in a little shop in Hong Kong when I visited during my senior year of college.  What an amazing city! ....and I love wearing a piece of clothing that reminds me of those great memories.

Check back in tomorrow for my very first guest blogger post!  Ashley from Flats to Flip Flops will be visiting, and you can read my guest post on her blog!

So Sleepy

These morning outfit photos are so deceptive.  I probably seem wide awake and ready for the day, but the truth is I'm so sleepy I often walk out of the house with a giant Downy Wrinkle Release stain or two.

Sharing these pictures just proves that I really have no shame.  Sorry world, this girl doesn't iron her clothes!

Over the Rainbow

This weekend a major thunderstorm passed through our time at the beach, and the end result was spectacular.  We celebrated by going to a nice little Italian restaurant.

Just kidding.  We visit an Italian restaurant every weekend... rainbow or not.
