Everybody Everywear: Green

I definitely should have gotten a little more creative with this Everybody Everywear post, but I just needed one more excuse to wear these pants again.

I apologize for the messy wrinkles (it's been a looong day), but I'm not sorry for the putting the pants on repeat.  These things are so soft, I just might wear them to the gym.  (And let's face it, we've probably all seen people wear stranger things on the treadmill.)

Some Spring Staples

I made a quick trip to the mall last week and knew exactly what I was looking for.  I had 2 essential spring needs wants and was waiting for a nice sale.  I love my Perfect Oxford in pink, and after E recently shrunk my other favorite white shirt, I thought this one would be a good replacement.  I also had my mind set on a pair of these soft cropped pants...I'm sure I'll wear 'em to death this spring season!

Focus on the Important Stuff

So is it strange for a bride-to-be to have pretty regular nightmares about her big day?  I've definitely had a handful of them since our August engagement, and it's the worst.  Basically, every single one is about the same thing--being unprepared.  In last night's version, my dad refused to get dressed in his suit in time for the wedding and I had to dance with him while he was in a t-shirt and jeans.  Past wedding-related nightmares have included missing flowers, forgotten gown, bad hair, etc.

I'm going to have to give myself some serious Zen time before bed each night so that I can focus on what this wedding is really about.  You know, love, commitment.. the big stuff.

But seriously, Dad, put the suit on.

Chunky Sweater

Big chunky sweaters aren't always the most flattering thing to put on your body, but there are plenty of other reasons to love them.  This one has a strange short sleeve going on, so it feels a little poncho-like. I had to go with my new favorite t underneath of this thing... along with my favorite black pajamas dress pants.

Monday Pants

These pants have quickly become my Monday uniform... mostly for two reasons:

1. It's relatively warm and I can get away with short pants and no boots.
2. They are just as comfortable as my pajama pants which makes me hate Mondays slightly less than I usually do.

The Quick Fix

Did you ever find an outfit you love, and then 2 minutes before you need to be out the door... you find an unsightly tear/stain/snag?  Yep... I hate that.

This outfit was my quick fix.  Thanks quick-fix outfit, you helped me survive hump day.

Feminine and Masculine

My no-brainer work attire typically involves a blazer and my most comfortable brown oxfords.  Unfortunately these favorite items are pretty masculine and I'm finally starting to realize that a balance is definitely necessary.

I couldn't imagine dealing with high heels today, so I opted for this bold necklace that I found on a Macy's sale rack.  I love love love bold jewelry!  Garish?  Maybe a little... but I still love it.  :)

I'm Not Kidding

Ever have a rut with your personal style and all you want to do is wear the same comfy outfit every day?  I've been in that rut for a while now...and wearing Hawaiian-themed pajamas to work just isn't going to cut it.  I wish I could trust E to dress me in the mornings.  Now isn't that a great wish?  A man who you could trust to dress you each morning?  Unfortunately, Erik can't be trusted with much.  In fact, just last night, he recommended photoshopping a giant picture of our cat into our save-the-date photo.

...aannnnnd, I'm not kidding.

On Repeat

Today was a busy work day, and I felt compelled to wear something I really love.  My '80s power suit was at the cleaners, so I turned back to this old pic.  Well, it's not really old.  At all.  But I loved the outfit, so I made a few minor changes and walked out the door with a smile on my face.  Two prints that don't match, some bright colors, and my favorite pants?  That's my power suit.

St. Peters Church, Philadelphia

Today we took a quick trip across the Delaware River to visit a flea market surrounding St. Peter's Church.  We arrived at the market a little too late to find anything good, but visiting the church grounds was interesting--tomorrow the church is celebrating its 250th year!

Oh, and yes, I'm wearing the ugly pants again...

Those Pants are Wild

Yesterday was my first pay-day since June, so I couldn't resist checking out a good sale at the Gap on my way home from work.  I brought these pants to the register and when the sales associate scanned them all she could manage to say was, "Those pants are wild."  ...But I know polite-girl-speak, and she definitely wanted to say, "Are you crazy?  Don't buy these."

Sorry girl, I just have to disagree.  I love the color, I love the fabric and (shhh don't tell anyone) nothing beats an elastic waistband.

For the Kids

Okay, I'll admit it.  I'm guilty of dressing to impress... my students, that is.  I put this necklace on today and knew I'd get some compliments from the kids.  Let's face it, when you're a teacher and you spend all day with little ones, you know what they like!  And when I'm looking through my jewelry in the morning, I often find myself wearing the big/sparkly/shiny things that they usually love.

So what am I saying?  ....Basically, I trust wholeheartedly in the fashion sense of my Kinder-6th Grade world, and I wouldn't want it to be any other way.
