Everybody Everywear: Nautical

I'm not sure if this is the most nautical outfit I could have pulled together, but I wasn't willing to wear anything other than this dress today.  It's comfortable and easy, and definitely a good way to avoid tearing apart your closet on a busy Tuesday morning.

My love of red/white/blue combos and stripes is clearly out of control.  If you're interested, check out a few more nautical-inspired outfits here, here, here, here and here

Everybody Everywear: Pink and Red

I've already worn this skirt to death, in real life and in blog photos, but I couldn't resist pulling it out again for Valentine's Day.  Sorry to bore you, folks.  Maybe I'll get sick of this skirt by next February.

On another note, I'm happy to finally participate in another Everybody Everywear today.  Hop on over to their site and check out the other lovely ladies participating.  And if you'd like to see my posts from the past, check them out here: Colored Tights, Pattern Mixing, Thrifting, Yellow, Lace, Florals, and Maxi Dress

Everybody Everywear: Colored Tights

I bought this dress from H&M during the summer, knowing that it would be a favorite fall favorite, and it really has been!  I've been wearing it nonstop over the past few months because so easy to dress up or down.

I can't wait to pack this mustard guy up for my upcoming long weekend!  Later this week, I'm meeting up with my family to officially begin the search for a...  wedding...   gown.

I've been so excited about the planning so far, but searching for the perfect gown seems so stressful, I'm definitely apprehensive about it.  I'm on my way to Bridal Atelier and RK Bridal in Manhattan.  Have any of you visited?  Any good stories about finding your dress?

Everybody Everywear: Pattern Mixing

I'm happy about today's Everybody Everywear challenge!  After pairing this same skirt with a Mickey Mouse t-shirt just two days ago, I knew I wanted to use it again with a floral print.

I like how this pairing turned out, because it's not something that I would have thought to do just a few months ago...  but isn't that what is so great about blogging?  You end up being a little more creative with what you've got!

Everybody Everywear: Thrifting

Thrift | Everybody, Everywear

I "thrifted" this vintage shirt several years ago, and I'm ashamed that I don't wear it more often.  It is really beautifully made.  All of the flowers are meticulously sewn, and the scalloped sleeves and neckline are adorable.

Now let's discuss this skirt, which was purchased new, but is also rarely worn.  I bought this skirt from a J.Crew outlet in the early Spring, only to realize that my legs were the same color as the skirt. (ewwwwww!)  So, other than wearing it with tights (not happening in this 100+ degree weather), I had to wait for some tan legs.  And trust me, my Eastern European genes don't like to tan.

Top: Thrifted from shop in Philly

Everybody Everywear: Yellow

Yellow | Everybody, Everywear

I bought these sandals this Spring and found myself wearing them constantly... especially to work.  They're so bright and sunny they seemed to be perfect for an elementary school teacher.

I could sit here and try desperately to say something funny and witty about teaching and wearing "cheery" outfits to work, but I'm officially on summer vacation, so my brain.is.turned.OFF.

Psst.. I've got a few other favorite yellow outfits, such as this lace top, a yellow floral clutch, and a cozy yellow sweater!  What's your favorite way to wear this fun color?

EBEW: Lace

While I think it's a lot of fun to share photos on Everybody Everywhere, I have to admit that I cringed a little when I saw that lace was the pick for June.  I realized today that I have exactly 2 items with lace.

1. this top and
2. a bathing suit cover-up (that I admittedly sport as a dress from time to time.)

With limited options and little patience for lace (I'm just being dramatic), I came up with this flowy shirt and a pencil skirt.  I think I actually prefer this short as it is worn in this old photo.

Happy Tuesday, Happy June, Happy EBEW Day!

Everybody Everywhere: Florals

Florals | Everybody, Everywear

Today is Floral Day over at Everybody Everywear!  I love florals, so when I looked through my closet last night, I was actually shocked to find out that my only other item of clothing that has a floral print was actually worn last week.

I'd love to pretend that this dress came right out of my grandmother's closet (because it looks like it should have), but in reality, I snagged it from a vintage clothing store in Philly a few summers ago.  I don't have too many vintage pieces, but I love them sooo much.

Old zippers, old seams......old floral print, for sure!

Everybody Everywhere: Polka Dot Day

Upon finishing the 30 for 30 this weekend, I practically ran to the closest mall!  I went straight into that GAP store with one giant coupon, and left with a smile on my face.  This top is a great spring-into-summer find, and I'm very impressed with the quality of it.  My real reason for the GAP visit was a new pair of work pants, and I couldn't pass up all of the new ankle length options!  No, it's not spring yet, but what's the problem? My ankles were simply begging for exposure.
